From our Arieana Notebook: *Hamida spent most of her life in England under the various ownerships of Mr. C.W. Laird, G.H. Ruxton, and Sidney G. Hough. In England she was bred to both Thoroughbred and Arabian stallions for a total of 6 foals (purebred and Anglo-Arab). In 1923 W. R. Brown purchased and imported *Hamida at age 15 along with her two-year old filly *Hama. Here in the United States, at 19 years old, *Hamida produced her 7th and only American-bred foal, the filly Ghazil in 1927. *Hamida died the following year (1928) at age 20; cause of death is unrecorded. We at Arieana Arabians proudly find this thin but valued branch of the Bint Helwa dam line coming down to us mid-pedigree through Surrab, the dam of Abu Baha. (Notes derived from: Mulder, Carol June Woodbridge. Imported Foundation Stock of North American Arabian Horses, Volume 3. Borden Publishing Company, 1995. pp. 173-175.)

From our Arieana Notebook: We value Hawija's influence as she carries forward mid-pedigree the Hilmyeh branch of the Bint Helwa dam line ~ a treasured source of heart and courage in the horses of Arieana Arabians. Bred by Gen. J.M. Dickinson of Traveler's Rest Arabian Horses in Franklin, Tennessee, Hawija was also owned during her lifetime by the Lanteen Arabian Foundation in Arizona and both Donald C. McKenna and A.E. Cameron in California. (Notes derived from: Mulder, Carol June Woodbridge. Imported Foundation Stock of North American Arabian Horses, Volume 3. Borden Publishing Company, 1995. p.175)
