From our Arieana Notebook: Shortly after her foal *Crabbet was on the ground in England, the American F. Lathrop Ames visited The Blunt's at Newbuildings and Crabbet and purchased *Narda II and her suckling foal at side, along with several other horses. *Narda II, in foal again to Rejeb, was imported to the United States and arrived with several others in the summer of 1910, age 8. The foal en-utero, *Noam, was born the following year in Massachusetts. Mr. Ames soon lost interest in his Arabians, and *Narda II was sold to Herbert J. Brown of Falmouth Foreside, Maine. In September 1915, H.J. Brown sold *Narda II to his brother W.R. Brown, and *Narda II was moved to his Maynesboro Stud in Berlin, New Hampshire. In 1920, *Narda II was once again sold to her last owner of record Lory Prentiss of Lawrenceville, New Jersey, and *Narda II's death date is listed as December 2, 1926, at age 24. Of interest to us is the confusion over the coat coloration of *Narda II's foal registration, whether she was chestnut or bay; she may have had a most unusual chestnut coat coloration in her maturity.

For further information on *Narda II,  her foals, and the other horses of F. Lathrop Ames importation from Crabbet in 1910, highly recommended reading is Carol June Woodbridge Mulder's Imported Foundation Stock of North American Arabian Horses Volume 1 (Revised Edition).
