CMK Mare and Owner Ready to Serve
|

| Sandy
Obermeyer of Obermeyer Performance Arabians in Atascadero is just back
from a week in Sacramento training at the California State Sheriff's Posse
headquarters and wrote this to us to share about her week's
training adventures: "The week in Sacramento was awesome.
OB Haat Lipz (Blitzen of Pico x Arriba's Pride) was leader of the pack in
going into a rioting crowd. I had to hold her back to stay with the slower
intimidated horses. She loves that sort of thing. She went over all obstacles,
through all the arrest scenarios (shooting guns off her, etc.), beating up a perp
with a baton, and went through Hell Night with ease (fireworks, flares, riots, just
everything). Awesome horse!" (11/05/04)

Honors and Praise for a CMK Stallion

We asked Sharon and Betsy to tell us about the
Sport Horse Nationals, September 15th-19th, and here's what Sharon wrote back (this is just too special to keep
under our hats. These CMK stallions are just the best!)
"We had a lovely time sharing
Aul Magic+/ and his carrot cake with visitors at the barn party on Thursday
night, and Magic got a very enthusiastic round of applause when he entered the arena with the flag. He
has quite a fan club!
One young fan got a bareback ride at the barn party and could hardly wait to brag to his sister that he
had ridden a beautiful stallion who had won 23 championships (we helped him add them up!). Another
exhibitor said she could not wait to tell her students that she'd actually had her photo taken with
Aul
Magic+/."

Head 'em up! Move 'em out!
|

| Deputy William Obermeyer is shown demonstrating the type of distractions his horse,
OB Haat
Lipz (Blitzen of Pico x Arriba's Pride) must endure by firing off a shotgun
on September 19th at
the Sheriff's Family Day at the Ranch, where the San Luis
Obispo County Sheriff's Posse was a featured participant.
Times Press Recorder staff writer, April Charlton, also
wrote this bit of interesting Southern California history in her
article about this cherished CMK mare and her service in the County's Mounted Sheriff's Posse: "When
County Sheriff Murray C. Hathway initiated a
mounted posse in 1940, its main mission was to reduce cattle rustling and help deputies patrol remote areas of the
county. Sixty-four years later, the Sheriff's Mounted Posse is still in existence, although cattle rustlers aren't at the top of the posse's
"to-do list" but patrolling in remote areas on horseback still is."

so proud of you all! ~spm

Exciting News from Germany: It's a Colt!
|
Howard Patton is justifiably proud of this recent news from Germany. His
Al Najib-bred mare, ANJ Shabah
(Aur Sulla x Bint Patrina) at 17
years old has produced her first foal, a colt. Sired by the Russian stallion
Gomel (standing at Kossack Stud in The Netherlands),
this handsome chestnut colt was foaled in March 2004. Mare Owner, Dr. Sabine
Gratzer, sent this photo of
the colt at
4 months old and reports all is well! Dr. Gratzer also reports she searched
diligently for a CMK stallion there in her vicinity of Germany, but to no avail.
Congratulations to one and all!

You are Invited to join us September 15th~ 19th! I just wanted to invite those of you who will be at the Sport Horse Nationals
this week to come by our stalls (Legendary Arabians) for a visit. The show is
at Rancho Murieta, near Sacramento, CA. We will be there all week.
Aul Magic+/ will carry the U.S. flag for the Friday and Saturday night
performances. The stallions Ta'ez and Heru are carrying the AHA and Canadian
flags. All these guys are champion dressage horses and it will be fun to see
them in the arena together.
We look forward to seeing many of our friends at the SHN, and hope you can join
us, too!
